Pricing — how the cost actually works

How much does this actually cost?+

Two parts, fully transparent. (1) Your session — studio time with coaching: Classic Headshots $130 (30 min, 1 outfit), Creative Headshots $260 (60 min, 3 outfits), The Full Experience $330 (120 min, 6 outfits). (2) Your images — after the shoot you browse your gallery and buy only the photos you love at $130 each; every purchased image is signature-retouched. Many people leave with one perfect headshot for $260 total (Classic Headshots + one image).

Are any photos included in the session price?+

The session covers studio time and coaching; images are purchased after ($130 each) so you only pay for photos you actually love. The one exception: the Camera Confidence Session ($799) includes 5 signature-retouched images.

Why is the session priced separately from the images?+

Because it's the honest way to do it. The session pays for what's the same for everyone — your studio time and the coaching that gets you there. The images are yours to choose afterward at $130 each, so you only ever pay for the photos you actually love, not a bundle you were upsold before you'd seen a single frame. Every image you buy is signature-retouched. It's a little more transparent than a flat package, and that's the point: you can see exactly where every dollar goes.

Do I have to buy any images at all?+

No — and we mean that. You're never obligated to buy a single photo. You browse your gallery after the shoot and purchase only the ones you love, from one image to as many as you like. Realistically almost everyone leaves with at least one they're thrilled about (volume is on your side — we shoot a lot of frames), and if somehow nothing lands, we reshoot rather than have you buy something you feel lukewarm about.

What is the Camera Confidence Session?+

Our signature session: a full hour with three outfit changes, camera-confidence coaching woven through the whole shoot, and 5 signature-retouched images included — $799. You learn a repeatable skill for being photographed, for life. Ask about our social-share discount when you book.

Is there a discount?+

Yes — a $300 social-share discount on the Camera Confidence Session: post your finished photos and tag the studio, and $300 comes off. Ask us when you book. (If you share for the discount, just mention the studio gave you one — honest disclosure keeps it clean.)

Do you sell gift cards?+

Yes — digital gift cards delivered by email. They bundle a session plus at least one finished image (for example, Classic Headshots + 1 retouched photo = $260), so the person you're gifting never has surprise costs. Ask us in chat or at the studio.

Can my company pay, or do you invoice?+

Absolutely — plenty of our clients are covered by their employer. Put a company card in at checkout, or pay yourself and expense it with the receipt we email you. One tip: set up your gallery with your PERSONAL email, not a work one — if you ever change jobs you'd lose access to a work inbox, and your photos with it. Doing a whole team? We bring the studio to you and bill the company directly on one invoice — ask us about the mobile/team option.

Booking & scheduling

Can I book same-day?+

Online booking opens 24 hours ahead. Need something today? Message or call the studio — if there's an opening we'll do our best to fit you in.

Can I reschedule or cancel?+

Cancellations are non-refundable. One reschedule is allowed if made more than 24 hrs in advance. Your confirmation email has a manage link where you can reschedule in one tap. No-shows aren't refunded. The Camera Confidence Session is non-refundable but transferable — you can give your session to someone else.

What if I run late?+

Arrive about 5 minutes early. If you're late, it cuts into your session time — though we always do our best to fit you in when logistics go sideways. No promises, but we're human.

What if I wake up sick the day of my session?+

Please don't power through — message or call the studio as early as you can. Officially a reschedule needs more than 24 hours' notice, but nobody plans on getting sick, and we're human about it: we'll do our best to move you to a day you feel like yourself. You'll look and feel better for it, and that always shows on camera.

The session

What actually happens — I don't know how to pose.+

Perfect — nobody does. Every session is coached head to toe: posture, angles, where to look, when to breathe. You'll look into a teleprompter (your own eyes) and we shoot a lot of frames — often 30–50 per outfit, sometimes a few hundred across a session. Volume is part of the method: the more you take, the more gold you find.

How many outfits can I bring?+

Bring options! We'll help you choose on the day. We shoot the number your package includes — 1 (Classic Headshots), 3 (Creative Headshots), or 6 (The Full Experience) — but extra choices to pick from are always welcome.

Do you have hair and makeup?+

Not on-site — come camera-ready, exactly how you love how you look. If you want professional hair/makeup, book your own artist beforehand; it's worth it if you want extra polish.

I hate having my photo taken. Is that a problem?+

You're our favorite kind of client. The whole method is built for camera-nervous people — coaching, breathing, and repetition until the camera stops being scary. Most people leave saying it was actually fun.

Can I bring a friend?+

Of course. If a familiar face helps you relax, bring one — a friend or partner is welcome to hang out while we shoot. A lot of camera-nervous people loosen up faster with someone they trust in the room, and relaxed is exactly the state we're going for. (Just know the coaching and the lens stay on you — they're there for moral support, not to art-direct.)

With AI headshots everywhere, is a real session still worth it?+

AI tools have gotten genuinely good, and for a quick throwaway avatar they're fine. What they can't do is be you — an AI image is a guess stitched from old selfies, a face that photographs well but isn't quite yours, and people can feel the difference. A real session gives you an authentic photo of the actual you on a real day, plus something software can't: you leave knowing how to be in front of a camera — a repeatable skill you'll use every time you're photographed for the rest of your life. We're not worried about AI; we just do a warmer, more human thing.

Photos, retouching & delivery

When do I see my photos?+

Same day — your watermarked online gallery is uploaded by end of day, and you select the images you'd like to purchase from there.

How does retouching work and how long does it take?+

Every image you purchase gets our signature retouch — stray hairs, skin, small distractions — always natural, never plastic. Delivery within 1 week promised, and it's often faster depending on workload. Need them today? When you pick your images, tick same-day retouch at checkout: $100 for the first image, $50 for each additional, and never more than $250 however many you buy — every image in that order is retouched and delivered the same day. You can also add priority rush for $100 up front when you book, if you already know you'll need a fast turnaround.

Why aren't the proofs in my gallery already retouched?+

Because retouching is real, hands-on work, and we only do it on the images you actually choose. Your same-day gallery shows the true, unretouched frames so you can pick on expression, angle, and energy — the things that make a headshot land. Try not to judge a proof by a stray hair or a bit of shine: every image you buy gets the full signature retouch afterward, so the version you download is the finished one. Judging the shoot by the proofs is like judging a cake by the batter.

Do I get prints?+

We deliver high-resolution digital files only — ready for LinkedIn, your website, print shops, anywhere.

Can I get the RAW / unedited files?+

We don't hand over RAW or unedited files — not to be precious, but because they're unfinished work. A RAW frame is the lump of clay, not the sculpture; the signature retouch (natural, never plastic) is the actual product you're paying for. What you get is the finished, high-resolution image — complete and ready to use anywhere. If you'd like a lighter, more natural edit, just tell us and we'll tune the retouch to your taste rather than hand over the raw file.

Can I use the photos anywhere? Who owns them?+

You get full usage rights — LinkedIn, company site, press, advertising, anywhere, forever. We only ever showcase final images with your consent.

Will you post my photos on Instagram or social media?+

Never without your explicit yes. That's not fine print — it's how we operate. After your finals are ready we might ask, one tap, whether we can show a favorite off; if you say no, nothing changes and we never bring it up again. We only ever share finished, retouched images you chose — never proofs or frames you didn't buy — and you can change your mind anytime about anything we haven't already printed. Job-hunting, dating, or just keeping a low profile? Your photos stay yours, full stop.

What if I don't like my photos?+

Then we reshoot you. We stand behind every session — our job isn't done until you have a headshot you love.

How often should I update my headshot?+

There's no hard rule — update when you've changed, not when the calendar says to. A new role or industry, a different look (fresh haircut, new glasses, a few years on you), or simply the moment your current one stops feeling like the person you are now. The bonus of learning the skill here: a refresh later is quick and easy, because you already know how to show up in front of the lens.

Location & logistics

Where are you located?+

2105 Rabb Rd, Austin, TX 78704. Arrive about 5 minutes early; arrival details are in your confirmation email.

Do you shoot teams or come to our office?+

Yes — we do corporate teams and on-location shoots with our mobile studio. Tell us your headcount and timeline and we'll send a quote: https://www.theperfectheadshot.com or just ask right here in chat.

Looking your best — glasses, hair & skin

I wear glasses — will there be glare?+

No problem either way. As we shoot, we naturally catch plenty of glare-free frames — a small tilt of the head clears most reflections — and when one looks perfect as-is, we'll happily use it untouched. If glare does land on a shot that's otherwise gold, removing it is a straightforward retouch. Bring your glasses, and we'll also grab a few frames without them so the choice is yours.

When should I get a haircut before my shoot?+

Book it about 1–2 weeks out — not the day before. A fresh cut needs a week or two to settle into its natural shape, and you want to look like your everyday self, not freshly barbered. Same idea for facial hair: decide clean-shaven versus groomed stubble ahead of time, then shape it the morning of.

I woke up with a breakout — should I still come?+

Come anyway — a breakout is the last thing to stress about. The signature retouch handles blemishes, spots, and stray-hair stuff as a matter of course, always keeping you looking like you and never plastic, so it won't follow you into your finals. Don't cancel over skin; we'll shoot as normal. And if you ever truly don't love your photos for any reason, every session is backed by our reshoot guarantee.

Still curious? Ask in the chat — or book your session.
